Summary
I am a qualified solicitor with more than 10 years of experience in a number of areas of law practice. I am currently principal solicitor for Cown & Law Solicitors a niche legal firm specialising in Employment Law, Immigration Law, Family Law, Landlord and Tenant and Business Law. Prior to setting up on my own I worked for different organisations including the Immigration Advisory Service, Refugee Legal Centre, North Manchester Law Centre and Lancashire County Council where I worked as an Employment Solicitor.
With regards to employment law I have experience in both contentious and non contentious matters. I successfully represented Lancashire County Council in a number of complex employment claims including unfair dismissal claims, racial and disability discrimination claims and TUPE claims. Since I set up in private practice I have litigated on a number of unfair dismissal and discirimination claims against the NHS and other Public institutions.
With respect to immigration law I have advised institutions on applying for and maintaining sponsorship licence, applying for work permits for employees and I have also helped individuals to make very complex applications for residence permit both under immigration rules and EEA regulations.
