There is a certain comfort in relaxing in the same old armchair, but it doesn’t get you very far.
It’s comfortable being in the same working environment year after year, particularly if you enjoy the work content of what you do, but it doesn’t get your career very far.
However, just because it’s comfortable doesn’t mean it’s safe so you still need to protect your future livelihood against the day when your income stops because your company is in difficulty.
Learn to read the signs and if your company isn’t healthy it may be time for pastures new before you become a complacent casualty.
Better to stay proactive and dig your well before the dry period becomes a drought.
